Design Division

Julie Lapham showed her incredible talent in this tiny 3" design which won a blue ribbon in a class called "Farm Soil"

Joan Laracy was rewarded with a red ribbon for this amazing hanging design in a class called "In the Air."

Susan Dewey also won red for this rhythmic design and its exquisite yellow peony in a class called "Dirt Roads."

Horticulture Division

Cacky Hodgson and Betsy DeMallie BOTH won red ribbons for entries into a class about Ethnobotany, what Native Americans used for food, technology (Betsy’s Arrow-wood, Viburnum dentatum [right]), and medicine (Cacky’s Culver’s Root, Veronicastrum virginicum [left].

Cacky Hodgson represented the Worcester Garden Club in a challenge to each of 12 clubs in the zone. The box had to have: "Container Grown Native Species and the Ethnobotany of New England." Our box won third. Congratulations to Cacky!

Needlework Division

Laura Glazier created this charming and complex needlework brick for "Hills, Harbors, Horizons." It had a fine tulle covering the stitched "pond" to give the water a reflective quality.
